There are lots of great things about running a marathon...
Especially telling people you completed a marathon!
You know the old joke: "How do you know if someone ran a marathon? Don't worry - they'll tell you."
If you run 26.2 miles, we all know it's pretty much compulsory that you tell your friends, family, and anyone that will listen all about it 😉
However, it can be hard to know how to weave it into conversation. So, here are 5 great things to say when bragging to people that you ran a marathon.
1️. Show appreciation: "I couldn't have done it without my partner/friend/family."
2. Or gratitude: "I'm so glad I had the opportunity to run the Yorkshire Marathon."
3. Or humility: "There were times I doubted I'd make it to the finish line, but I'm really glad I pushed through!"
4. Weave it into a different conversation: "I had such a delicious lunch on Sunday...food always tastes so good right after I run a marathon."
5. Wear a huge, brightly coloured sports watch: wait for people to ask about it... then you've got free reign to tell them you ran a marathon! 😇
In all seriousness, everyone jokes about marathon runners bragging about their achievements - but so you should!
There's no better feeling than crossing that finish line, and it's totally natural to want to shout to the world about it.
But first...you better sign up for that marathon! 😄👇
