City of Lincoln 10K Sees Thousands of Runners Sprint Towards Success
It was medals all round in the historic City of Lincoln this morning, as thousands of runners of all abilities crossed the finish line at the city’s annual 10K event.
The atmosphere was electric, with participants ranging from those running for victory to those in fancy dress, all participating in support of a variety of charities. Together, they took on the fast and flat course, creating a day to remember for all involved.
As part of the event, runners had been encouraged to fundraise for a charity of their choice or one of the partner charities Acts, Carers First, Framework, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincoln City Foundation, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Linkage, RSPCA, Sophie’s Journey and YMCA Lincolnshire.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All with the support of City of Lincoln Council, the main event began at 10am on Riseholme Road, with wheelchair participants starting minutes earlier, including elites Jade Hall with a time of 24:48 and Callum Hall with 25:36.
Those involved embarked on a route along Nettleham Road, passing the landmark Lincoln Cathedral before heading back up to Yarborough Leisure Centre and across to Ravendale Sports Ground before looping round for a cathedral finish.
In the main field, the first male to cross the line was Patrick Roddy with a time of 00:30:13. Joseph Wilson claimed second place in 00:30:42, with Oliver Donkin securing third in 00:30:50.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Olivia Mathias in 00:32:55, followed by Charlie Thornton in second place with a time of 00:34:42, and Georgina Weston in third with a time of 00:35:47.
Also forming part of the day, the 2025 City of Lincoln 10K Corporate Challenge. A race within a race, the Corporate Challenge saw teams battle it out to achieve the quickest combined time. The initiative runs alongside the main event, but instead of competing individually, teams work together to cross the line as quickly as possible. It’s a fun way to put teamwork to the test while taking part in a fantastic community event.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, said: “It was fantastic to be back on Lincolnshire soil for one of their largest running events of the year, the City of Lincoln 10K. The support from everyone was brilliant, and it made for a wonderful day.
A huge congratulations to all participants, from those who achieved a PB to those raising funds for a charity close to their heart, and everything in between. We’re already looking forward to returning to Lincoln later this year for the Lincoln Half Marathon. We hope to see you there!”
The City of Lincoln 10K is sponsored by City of Lincoln Council, High 5, Arla Protein, Up and Running, BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Coopah, Marathon Photos Live, Shokz and Jog On.
