Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, in partnership with Coventry City Council, have today announced that entries are now open for one of the region’s most highly anticipated and popular charity road running events, the Coventry Half Marathon.
Returning to Coventry’s sporting calendar on Sunday 28th April, thousands of inspiring and seasonal runners alike are expected to take part.
Boasting huge popularity across the region, the Coventry Half Marathon is once again hoped to generate a tremendous boost for a number of local and national charities.
The Coventry Half Marathon will be returning to a city centre start and finish.
With community and charity at its core, participants are encouraged to take part and raise money for their own personal reasons or to support one of the event’s partner charities.
Any further charities interested in becoming an Official Charity Partner – whether involved previously or not – are encouraged to contact Run For All as soon as possible.
Runners are invited to fundraise for a cause close to their heart, chase a personal best or take on a brand-new challenge. Regardless of goal or reason for taking part, event organisers are committed to facilitating a way for runners of all types to take part.
Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All, the UK’s largest not-for-profit events company, are working on increasing community and charity engagement, removing barriers to participation for the event, so that more people in the region can enjoy the benefits of getting active.
Cllr Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events, Coventry City Council, said: "We're delighted to be working with Run For All on the organisation of the Coventry Half Marathon next year. Run For All were partners in this year’s half marathon for the first time and delivered a fantastic event.
"The route will cover some of Coventry’s iconic buildings and attractions meaning participants can experience the city whilst taking part in the run. I hope to see thousands of people sign up to take part in this brilliant event.”
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Director of Operations at Run for All said: “We are delighted to open entries for the 2024 Coventry Half Marathon.
“The Coventry Half Marathon is a great way for the local community to engage in a local sporting event and also serves as a great opportunity for runners to fundraise for a charity close to their hearts.
“As always, it will be our mission to facilitate an event that removes barriers to participation and we hope to inspire people to join us for a great day of running, regardless of age or ability or reason for taking part.”
The Coventry Half Marathon is supported by Coventry City Council, Arla Protein, Coventry Runner, High 5, Coopah, Shokz and BBC CWR.
BBC Radio CWR are the media partner for the event and will be broadcasting live from the start and finish line.
