Derby Half and Derby 5 Mile Postponed to Autumn 2021

The following message was sent to participants in the 2020 Derby Half Marathon and Derby 5 mile on the 27th April 2021.

Dear Entrants,

Following our last email on 31st March, we write to you today with an update regarding this years Derby Half Marathon and Derby 5 Mile. 

Thank you for your patience and continued support over the past year. We appreciate that due to COVID-19 there has been a number of alterations to events including the Derby Half Marathon and 5 Mile that have been outside of our control, so we thank you for your understanding.

Whilst the easing of lockdown slowly continues and its hoped events will be able to return later this year, we unfortunately write to you today to advise that the Derby Half Marathon and Derby 5 Mile won't be taking place on the 13th June as previously scheduled and will be postponed to late 2021.

We had been hopeful, like many major running events that were due to take place in the early part of this year, that our June event would be able to take place, but like many other events, we are still awaiting formal UK Government guidance for social distancing requirements for events prior to stage 4 of the Government road map.

The difficult decision to postpone has  therefore been taken to to ensure you still receive a high quality event day experience without restrictions. 

By the time of sending this email, we had hoped to have a date confirmed to share with you all, however, we are still awaiting formal confirmation of the event date from location partners but it is hoped that we will be able to host the event in late Autumn 2021.

We appreciate that there will be much disappoint today due to this postponement and us being unable to confirm a new date at this time. However, we can assure you we will have an update for you by the end of May once a date has been finalised. In the meantime, we hope you can focus on the start line and remember the incredible difference your participation can make to so many charities

We can confirm that all entries will automatically be moved to the new date, and  your entry will remain active for the Derby Half Marathon or Derby 5 Mile.

We really hope we will see you all on the start line later this year, but in the meantime, we would ask you to stay safe, stay well and keep active.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to be able to offer full refunds.  This is as per our standard terms and conditions.
