Run For All are delighted to announce that entries are now open for the region’s most highly anticipated charity road running events, the 2024 Derbion Ramathon, RAM 5 Mile and Team Challenge
Set to take place on Sunday 30th June, next year’s Ramathon will be the 10th staging of the event in the city. A firm favourite in the region’s sporting calendar, thousands of fun runners, fundraisers and club runners are expected to sign up across both events.
Attracted by a city centre start and finish for both the Ramathon and Ram 5 Mile, runners can look forward to a fast and flat route; making it suitable for both novice and seasoned runners alike.
The Ramathon course boasts the city’s picturesque backdrop, starting and finishing outside the steps of Derby Cathedral and takes in local sights such as Pride Park Stadium and Derby’s very own Gothic Revival stately home, Elvaston Castle.
The Ramathon 5 Mile will follow much of the same route.
Providing fundraising opportunities for charities is the primary objective of every Run For All event, ensuring that the money being raised by the event stays local and supports the causes that need them most.
Runners are encouraged to fundraise for one of the events partner charities; the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, PASIC and Annabel’s Angels.
Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All will continue to increase community engagement, while also working to remove barriers to participation for the event and promoting the benefits of getting active.
The event will also work closely with local businesses across the region and is encouraging anyone interested in partnering with the event to get in touch.
Sitting alongside the main event of the day, the Derbion Ramathon Team Challenge will be open to teams of four or more to take on the full half marathon distance in the hope of being the fastest team of 2024.
The Team Challenge offers a great opportunity for teams of all combinations and backgrounds to engage in an element of friendly race day rivalry or strengthen team work, all while raising money for many deserving charities.
Event organisers are inviting teams within local business, sport teams, clubs, family or friends to take part.
Rather than competing as individuals, participants will work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time to be crowned Team Challenge champions.
In addition to being team focused, the Team Challenge boasts a more premium package with the inclusion of a few extra perks and benefits, including race day kit, race day hospitality, digital team photos, team t-shirts and prizes for the winners.
Derby’s best-loved retail destination, Derbion, has built on its longstanding support of the event by retaining title sponsorship. Their support forms a vital part of the company’s community focused values and its commitment to the local community within Derby.
Beth McDonald, Managing Director of Derbion, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to be continuing our support for the events in 2024 and to once again be the title sponsor of one of the East Midlands’ biggest charity road runs.”
“The Ramathon really does bring the city of Derby together, and we’re already looking forward to seeing those taking part at the start line next June!”
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Derbion Ramathon, RAM 5 Mile and Team Challenge in 2024.
“The events are a fantastic opportunity for the local community to engage in a local sporting event and serve as a great opportunity for runners to fundraise for a great local cause."
“All of our events remain to be entirely inclusive and we encourage runners of all abilities to join us on the day.”
