With the GEAR 10K only 9 weeks away it’s time to grab your trainers as the Get into GEAR training sessions are back!
Thanks to local King’s Lynn running club, Ryston Runners, weekly training sessions will begin Wednesday 4th March offering runners of all ages and abilities the perfect preparation for event day on Sunday 3rd May.
The training will take place on the running track at Alive Lynnsport at 7pm each Wednesday, lasting approximately an hour.
These fun and friendly sessions aim to create a supportive atmosphere and encourage runners to achieve personal goals.
The sessions will focus on the improvement of running form, endurance, mind-body coordination, motivation and metabolism. This will be supported by a series of interval training methods.
These training sessions will be provided free of charge – thanks to sponsors Bespak – and will be brought to you by Ryston Runners. They will offer the local King’s Lynn community the opportunity to find new training buddies, improve their fitness and get into gear for the 2020 Asda Foundation GEAR 10K.
Ryston Runners AC lead UKA coach, Rebecca Tuff, said: “We are delighted that the Get Into GEAR training sessions are returning this year. We saw our runners accomplish some incredible achievements at 2019’s Asda Foundation GEAR 10K and we were proud to be a part of that.
“Everyone is welcome to join us this year. It doesn’t matter about your ability, it’s all about having a good time and improving our health in the process.”
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors Bespak, all runners that attend over six of the eight sessions will receive a free gift as an extra incentive to clock up the miles.
Also taking place alongside the GEAR 10K on May 3rd will be the Bespak Mini GEAR. The 1.2K fun run offer runners, over the age of six, a chance to participate and each year hundreds of local schools children take part
Michael Earl, Vice President, Commercial at Bespak, said: “It is great to offer these training sessions to the King’s Lynn community. They are an enjoyable way to stay fit and healthy, plus, they offer great preparation for the Asda Foundation GEAR 10K”.
“We are really excited for the event in May - especially the Bespak Corporate challenge and the Bespak Mini GEAR which we are extremely proud to support.”
