The countdown is on to the Asda Foundation Sheffield Half Marathon with only 4 weeks to go till race day on Sunday 29th March.
To help runners make their final race day preparations, event organisers Run For All have partnered with local running club Handsworth Roadhogs to organise 4 FREE weekly training sessions.
Starting Monday 2nd March runners are welcomed to join the sessions which will be held at Handsworth Grange Sports Centre between 6:30pm and 7:30pm each week.
These fun and friendly sessions aim to create a supportive atmosphere and encourage runners to achieve personal goals and are open to runners of all ages and abilities.
The sessions will focus on the improvement of running form, endurance, mind-body coordination, and motivation. This will be supported by a series of interval training methods.
These training sessions will be provided free of charge and will offer the local Sheffield community the opportunity to find new training buddies, improve their fitness and get into gear for the 2020 Asda Foundation Sheffield Half Marathon.
The streets of Sheffield will be a riot of colour and noise on Sunday 29th March when thousands of runners of all abilities take part in one of Yorkshire’s biggest charity road races.
As well as being one of the region’s most popular runs, the steel city half marathon is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for good causes.
The event’s partner charities are Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Macmillan Cancer Support, Children’s Hospital Charity, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Sheffield Hospital’s Charity, St Luke’s Hospice, Cavendish Cancer Care, Sheffield Age UK the Snowdrop Project and Sheffield Futures.
The Sheffield Half Marathon is supported by the Asda Foundation, Sheffield City Council, Outdoor City Sheffield, Arla Protein, Erdinger, BBC Radio Sheffield, Motorpoint, Front Runner High 5, Runderwear, Aftershokz and JustGiving.
