Run For All, in partnership with Hull City Council, are delighted to announce that entries are now open for one of the region’s most highly anticipated charity road running events, the Hull 10K.
Set to take place on Sunday 9th June, next year’s Hull 10K will be the 13th time that the event has been staged in the city. A firm favourite in the region’s sporting calendar, thousands of fun-runners, fundraisers and club runners are expected to sign up.
Attracted by a city centre start and finish, runners can look forward to a fast and flat route; making it suitable for both novice and seasoned runners alike.
Featuring a shotgun time of 9.00am, the 10K course makes the most of the city’s picturesque backdrop, starting and finishing on Alfred Gelder Street and takes in the Humber Dock Marina, award-winning aquarium, The Deep, and Hull Minster.
Runners are encouraged to fundraise for one of the event’s partner charities; the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Special Stars Foundation, Aim Higher, Hull 4 Heroes, Arafest, Hull Women’s Aid and Age UK Hull.
Providing fundraising opportunities for charities is the primary objective of every Run For All event, ensuring that the money being raised by the event stays local and supports the causes that need them most.
Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All will continue to increase community engagement, whilst also working to remove barriers to participation for the event, so that more people in the region can enjoy the benefits of getting active.
The event will also work closely with local businesses across the region and is encouraging anyone interested in partnering with the event to get in touch.
The Hull Half Marathon will not take place in 2024 due to ongoing works around the city, therefore, we encourage runners to take part in next year’s 10K.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Hull 10K and MKM Hull 10K Team Challenge next year.
“Both events are a great way for the local community to engage in a local sporting event and serve as a great opportunity for runners to fundraise for a great local cause."
“All of our events aim to be entirely inclusive and we encourage runners of all abilities to join us on the day.”
"Sitting alongside the main event of the day, the MKM Hull 10K Team Challenge is a great opportunity for teams of all combinations and backgrounds to engage in an element of friendly race day rivalry or strengthen team work, all while raising money for many deserving charities."
Event organisers are inviting teams within local business, sport teams, clubs, family or friends are invited to take part.
Rather than competing as individuals, participants will work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time to be crowned Team Challenge Champions.
In addition to being team focused, the Team Challenge boasts a more premium package with the inclusion of a few extra perks and benefits, including race day kit, race day hospitality, digital team photos, team t-shirts and prizes for the winners.
The UK's leading independent builders’ merchant, MKM, has built on its longstanding support of the event by retaining title sponsorship of the Team Challenge. Their support forms a vital part of the company’s community focused values and its commitment to the local community within the city of Hull.
