The following message was sent to participants in the 2020 Hull 10K and Hull Half Marathon on 12th August 2020.
Dear Runner,
Firstly, we want to wish you, your friends and family all the best. We hope you are keeping safe and well during these challenging times.
Back in May we wrote to you and advised that the Hull Running Festival had been postponed until November 15th and that we would write to you again closer to the time to advise whether the event could go ahead this year as planned.
We appreciate this email was sent some time ago as so we would like to thank you for your continued support and patience as we adapt to this new world we are living in and review new event guidelines.
At the time of the postponement, we had great hopes that we would be able to host the Hull Running festival this year. However, given the UK Government guidelines, we feel it very unlikely that these events will be able to go ahead this year due to the social distancing that would need to be implemented and the limitations of the current route and assembly area.
Therefore, we are unfortunately writing to advise you that due to COVID-19, the Hull Running Festival has been postponed to Sunday 6th June 2021.
Whilst we appreciate this news won’t come as a complete surprise, like you, we are disappointed that our return to Hull will have to wait another year but the safety of you the entrants has to come first.
All entries will be transferred to the new date in 2021 so please mark Sunday 6th June in your diary.
Can we take this opportunity to ask you to also consider supporting one of the events official partner charities when you take to the start line next year. Over the years these events have raised a significant sum of money for charity and due to the postponements of these events we know many charities will be struggling to continue to deliver vital services due to lack of funds. Your support now, can really make a difference.
We really hope we will see you all on the start line next year, but in the meantime, we would ask you to stay safe, stay well and keep active.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to be able to offer full refunds. This is as per our standard terms and conditions.
On behalf of the Run For All Team can we thank you for your continued support and patience.
