Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be crowned corporate challenge champions in King’s Lynn!
The Recipharm GEAR 10K Corporate Challenge has become a key date in the East Anglian running calendar. It’s one of the region’s largest annual events boasting a flat and fast course that attracts first time runners and seasoned pros alike.
This is a race within a race that sees teams battle it out to be crowned ‘Corporate Challenge Champions’. The race runs alongside the main event, but rather than competing as individuals, your challenge is to work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time.
Many businesses take part year on year, and we caught up with a few teams ahead of the event on Sunday 1st May 2022.
The fantastic team at Ward Gethin Archer remains proud to support the Corporate Challenge, with an ever-expanding team ready on the start line each year. Simon Adams from the team said,
“We’re proud of our local roots, and love to support local events wherever we can. One of the largest events annually in King's Lynn is the GEAR 10k which brings thousands of people to the town centre and creates an amazing atmosphere. Our head office is situated immediately opposite the start line so we are always keen to take part. Our team of corporate runners seems to grow every year as word spreads among our staff, and the build-up to race day creates a real buzz among our team. We’re very much looking forward to GEAR 2022!”
Along the fantastic GEAR 10K route you will find Russen and Turner Estate agents, who take part in the corporate challenge each year. John Stewart and colleagues encourage those of all running ability to become involved with the corporate challenge, expressing that the event is a fantastic and fun challenge to be enjoyed by all.
Finally, Neil Gayton is heading up the Stephenson Smart Corporate Team this year. The team were Corporate Challenge champions in 2021, and they are looking to retain their title.
Neil said,
“Team Stephenson Smart have taken part in the GEAR 10k Corporate Challenge for the past few years; it is good for team morale and promotes health and well-being in the firm. This year we are running in aid of our charity partner, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and will try and re-gain our achievement of being the first placed corporate team. I am, personally most looking forward to getting another t-shirt to add to my collection, and the pastries and coffee at the finish.”
Alongside these businesses, many other companies are taking to the streets of King’s Lynn this Sunday 1st May ready to raise funds for charities close to heart, engage in friendly competition, and enjoy the race-day buzz on Tuesday Market Place.
