Dear entrants,
Thank you for your patience and continued support over the past two years.
We are really excited to be back in Hull on Sunday 12th June for the popular Hull Half Marathon and Hull 10K, for the first time since 2019.
We are getting in touch to advise that due to ongoing and extensive roadworks across Hull City Centre, both events will have a new route for 2022.
Starting on Cottingham Road, the new route will take in the sights of the University of Hull before heading out on country lanes towards Cottingham. The Half Marathon route will then head south towards the Avenues before making its way back to cheering crowds on Cottingham Road.
Over recent months, we have worked closely with partners at Hull City Council to ensure an event can still happen this year, despite extensive works taking place across the city.
While this may not be our usual route, we are delighted that, thanks to support from Hull City Council and the University of Hull, both the Hull Half Marathon and Hull 10K will be able to take place in 2022 as planned. The MKM Hull Half Marathon Corporate Challenge and Hull 10K Corporate Challenge will also return on the same day.
A Hull City Council spokesperson said: “We are delighted to welcome the return of the Hull Half Marathon and Hull 10K to the city’s streets for 2022.
“The Hull Running Festival is a much-loved part of the city’s sporting calendar and has been sorely missed over the past two years by the thousands of runners who usually take part.
“While the ongoing improvement works across the city mean the usual route is not possible this year, we have worked hard with Run for All to ensure the event can go ahead, and we hope runners enjoy exploring a different part of our wonderful city.”
With the new location, we are requesting that entrants are respectful of local residents and take advantage of our free park and ride service or alternatively, walk, cycle or use public transport to travel to the event. Park and ride will open to entries by the end of April – all entrants will be contacted when the booking system is open in order to add this option to their entry.
We are looking to return to a city centre route in Hull for 2023, but in the meantime, we are confident that this new route will still offer a fantastic and enjoyable day out for all and are excited to explore this new challenge for 2022.
Entries are now open so get your friends and family involved and join us for an incredible celebration of running in Hull in our first event in the city since 2019.
We can’t wait to see you all on the start line.
Kind regards,
The Run For All Team
