The Technology Group will be fending off firms on two fronts this year as they continue their sponsorship of both the Sheffield Half Marathon and Leeds Half Marathon Team Challenges.
Taking place as part of the successful Asda Foundation Sheffield and Leeds Half Marathons The Technology Group team challenge will see companies from across the region competing to be crowned winners.
Teams will lock horns as they compete against one another as the charge to the finish line in the hope of their team being first across the line to be crowned the fastest firm.
David Marsden, The Technology Group’s Co-Founder and Acquisitions Director said: “We are proud sponsors and runners at the Sheffield & Leeds Half Marathon Team Challenge. Setting up our weekly running club has motivated the team, running together has boosted morale in the office. Taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon last year was a great warm up, we raised £880 for the Jane Tomlinson appeal and are keen to exceed that for such a worthy cause. Thrilled to be involved with such a well organised and fun event again. Wishing the best of luck to the team challenge entrants. See you at the finish line. May the best team win.”
The crown for the fastest male and female is also to be awarded adding to the competition between firms and friends alike.
Already sizing up and set to start alongside them in the Sheffield on Sunday 29th March 2020 are returning runners HASSRA Yorkshire and the Humber, Grant Thornton & debutants The South Yorkshire Police.
Whilst in Leeds debutants Mackenzie Stuart and previous entrants Pinsent Mason LLP have already thrown their hats in the ring ready for 10th May - It’s sure to be a great spectacle!
Tom Cudmore, associate at Grant Thornton said “Grant Thornton Sheffield will be fighting hard to defend our crown in the Sheffield Half Marathon Corporate Team Challenge! As a firm looking to showcase the great business opportunities in Sheffield, we can’t wait to take part in one of Sheffield’s biggest and most successful events, all whilst supporting great charities doing fantastic work in the local area!”
Tom Wilcox, Managing Consultant at Mackenzie Stuart said: “The nine participants from Mackenzie Stuart are all running the Leeds Half Marathon for different individual reasons – ranging from improving fitness and beating personal best times, to getting out of the office and becoming more active. However, despite these different individual goals, we are all running to collectively raise money for a fantastic cause close to all our hearts, and that is Alzheimer’s Society. The Leeds Half Marathon enables businesses all over the city to come together for brilliant charities such as Alzheimer’s Society, whilst also adding in a competitive edge and enormous sense of achievement, when all is said and done”.
The events organised by local events company Run for All offer individuals and companies the chance to engage in some of the region’s biggest runs both raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for an array of local good causes.
Henry Myers of Run For All said, “The Team Challenge is a fantastic addition to the Half Marathon series and it’s great to see such a variety of teams enter from all around the region.
