Today marked the successful launch of the Coventry Running Festival, with thousands of runners crossing the finish line outside the spectacular Coventry Cathedral this morning after completing the Half Marathon and all new 10K.
The action began at 9:00am with the start of the Coventry Half Marathon, followed by the Coventry 10K at 9:30am, both brought to you with the support of Coventry City Council.
A major highlight of the day was the success of the 10K, a new addition for 2025, which welcomed hundreds of runners of all ages and abilities across the finish line and added an additional sense of community spirit and inclusivity to the festival.
Both events followed a scenic and crowd-pleasing route, with participants weaving through the historic city centre streets, before Half Marathon runners continued into the nearby countryside en route to Warwickshire, and returning to the city centre to finish in front of the iconic Cathedral.
While charity fundraising remained at the heart of the festival, the event also hosted competitive elite races, featuring some of the region’s top athletes.
Adam Hudson claimed victory in the Half Marathon with a time of 01:10:22, Jason Bennett came in second in 01:11:52 and third, Paul Hathaway in a time of 01:14:57.
In the women’s category, Kelly Edwards triumphed with a time of 01:20:40. Natasha White finished in a time of 01:20:54 and Rachel Gilworth took third place with a time of 01:21:11.
The men’s 10K was won by Nick Woolley with a completion time of 00:33:26, followed by Dominic Muskos in 00:36:08 and third place was taken by Zhi Yan Yeo in 00:36:28.
And for the women’s 10K, Roisin Quinn crossed the line in 00:47:34, Sally Eason second with a time of 00:48:42 and in third place Hannah Parry in 00:49:36.
Despite the elite achievements, the true winners were the local charities, who will benefit greatly from the fundraising efforts of thousands of participants. Runners of all ages and abilities helped to raise funds for many worthy causes, including Run For All’s partner charities: Cyrenians, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Myton Hospice, Pawprints, RSPCA, and Zoe’s Place. The amounts raised for each cause will make a vital difference to organisations across the region.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, said: “It was a brilliant day at the Coventry Running Festival. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, with incredible support lining the route and a real buzz around the 10K, a new addition for 2025.
A huge well done to every runner, whether you were chasing a personal best, raising money for a cause close to your heart, or simply soaking up the race day spirit. We’re already looking forward to next year – and we hope to see even more of you on that start line!”
Entries are now open for the 2026 Coventry Half Marathon and Coventry 10K. A limited-time discounted offer is currently available for early entrants.
