Carol Penney celebrates 15 years of running at Run For All

Carol Penney, avid fundraiser for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and keen runner will be taking part in the 2022 Leeds 10K.  Carol has taken part in the Leeds 10K every year since its launch in 2007 and really enjoys the community spirit and celebrations the event brings to the city of Leeds.

After been inspired by Jane Tomlinson’s story, the 2007 Leeds 10K was Carol’s first 10K, “I was so inspired by Jane’s story and after meeting her at the Rothwell 10K; I knew I had to keep the running up.”

Carol has met many friends through Run For All and the appeal team and often takes part in other Run For All events such as the York 10K, Middlesbrough 10K and the Yorkshire Marathon relay.

Carol had spinal surgery five years but was committed to keep the running up and despite getting a little slower, still frequently takes part in many Run For All events such as the York 10K, Middlesbrough 10K and Yorkshire Marathon Relay. It’s not all about the running for Carol, after meeting so many friends through the events and appeal team, she really values the camaraderie and togetherness running creates. 

Carol hopes to continue her annual return to the Leeds 10K in the future, whether it be as a runner, spectator or volunteer.
