Rochelle Agard-Augustin will be joining thousands of runners at this year’s Nottingham 10k to help raise awareness for a cause close to her heart.
Rochelle has challenged herself to complete the Nottingham event to help raise awareness and funds for Samaritans, as well as the importance of mental health.
Samaritans help support individuals who may be suffering with mental health issues, in particular depression. Their hard work, and incredible team of volunteers, help save lives every day, offering support to those who need it most.
Rochelle says she has experienced the challenges of living with depression, anxiety and dermatillomania and knows first-hand the impact of Samaritans in helping to provide vital lifelines for people who may feel like they have nowhere else to turn.
Rochelle hopes by sharing her story, and taking on this incredible challenge, that she can not only help raise money for Samaritans but also to raise awareness about mental health conditions and the importance of seeking help.
She wants others to know that they’re not alone in life and that there is zero shame in reaching out and asking for support.
Rochelle says taking part in the Nottingham 10k is “my way of turning my own journey into something positive and I hope it inspires others to talk openly about mental health.”
