Event information

This is where it all began.

The Leeds 10K was Jane Tomlinson’s vision. Having raised £1.8 million for charity while she was battling terminal cancer, in 2006 Jane knew her time left to fundraise was limited. As a result, she decided to set up the Leeds 10K to continue the fundraising vehicle for charities that she had started.

Over the last 15 years the Leeds 10K has grown to become one of the highlights of the city’s events calendar, and is a hugely popular, inclusive and supported race for participants of all abilities.

In many ways, the Leeds 10K captures the can-do, inspirational spirit of its founder.

Throughout the route, crowds come out in force. A fantastic atmosphere and friendly volunteers make the event unforgettable for all.

Whether you’re running for a PB, fundraising for a cause close to your heart, or simply aiming to get round and enjoy the day, this is the event for you.

Give your trainers a new ‘lace of life’ with JogOn

Check out our brand-new partnership with JogOn!

We are inviting you to part ways with unwanted old trainers that you may have previously thrown out. Drop-off stations will be made readily available next to the Race Office, located in the Event Village on Millennium Square.

Trainers will then be sent onto the JogOn HQ, ready to be passed on for a new lease of life and redistributed to those who need them most. Where possible, the JogOn Again scheme enables the reuse of unwanted shoes by giving them to those in need, through distribution by partners in eleven hubs around the world. Where reuse is not an option for the shoes they are shredded, and their remains are reused for other purposes.

Keeping Leeds green

We are committed to keeping Leeds green and we understand the importance of doing our bit for the environment. Bins will be provided across the event site and we urge people to use the facilities provided.

Let’s work together to Keep Leeds green and encourage other runners to do the same.

Pacers

Our team of pacers, sponsored by Arla Protein, have been organised on behalf of the Northern Pacing Volunteers.

The team are looking forward to supporting you on your run. Each pacer will have a flag attached to them with finish times and will run at a steady pace. If you keep up with them, you’ll be able to achieve the time on the flag.
Our pacers will be pacing at five-minute intervals between sub-40 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.

They’re all very friendly, so feel free to have a chat with them before the event, and be sure to say thanks once you’ve crossed the finish line!

Headphones on event day

As this is a closed-road event, you are welcome to wear headphones, but please make sure that you are aware of your surroundings all around the course.

If you wish to listen to music on your run, please make sure you can hear the marshals’ instructions, emergency vehicles and fellow competitors.

Shokz is the official Sports Headphones Partner of England Athletics & Run For All.

The partnership between Shokz, England Athletics and Run For All recognises that many athletes enjoy listening to music while warming up, training or competing. Whether it is taking part in events, running solo or socially with others, it’s key that their experience is safe and enjoyable.

Running with music would make your run more joyful. With Shokz open-ear headphones, runners could listen to their favourite playlist or broadcast on the run while maintaining sociability.

There is a 15% discount offer for all Run For All entrants. To receive this discount entrants must purchase Shokz headphones via Up & Running and use a specific code. To receive this discount code, please contact our admin team via our contact form here
