The York Mini and Junior Run is a great way to get active this year!

Mini | 1.5KM | Age between 3 & 8. All children must run with a parent or guardian. |
Junior | 2.5KM | Ages between 9 & 14 |
Open to runners aged three and up, of all backgrounds and abilities, this popular local event is a fantastic day out for all the family.
We encourage children of all backgrounds and abilities to take part in the Fun Run, including those with disabilities and any other special considerations. Please get in touch so we can help you and them have the best experience.
All finishers will be rewarded with a goody bag and that all-important medal to show off to friends!
Important entry information.
Registering a young runner aged between 3 and 8 years old:
- The adult running must put another adults emergency contact details when asked during the registration process. Please do not enter your own information here.
Registering a young runner aged between 9 and 14 years old:
- Entries must be completed by a parent/guardian aged 18 years or over on behalf of the child.
- The adult must log in to their own account when registering their child. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
Enter with a peace of mind

For a small fee, this will give you insurance should you be unable to take part in the event. You can cancel your entry and receive a refund on your entry fee up to 48 hours before the event.
Important Note
Do not under any circumstances allow anybody else to run with a race number under your name.
Amongst other issues, this can create major problems for the medical team should they need to treat unknown runners. Anyone found to have done this will be disqualified.

We have 100 free entries to give away to schools and registered community groups in York.

At the Start and Finish
Please note that the start line for both events is located on the Knavesmire.
Once crossing the finish line, all mini and juniors are asked to collect their goodies including that all-important medal and a selection of goodies once they cross the finish line.
Participants will then be directed to the collection point by our team of friendly volunteers where they'll be able to meet up with their parents or guardians
Parking
Parking for the Mini and Junior run will be available on Knavesmire Road, easily reached from across the city and with ample onsite free parking. Please take extra care when parking as this area will be busy with lots of excited runners!
Dedicated event parking will be held on the grounds by York Racecourse, located off Bishopthorpe Road. Signage will be in place on event day. Event parking will be available between 10am and 1pm.
Family support?
Please may all supporters head down to the start and finish line so that they can watch all participants fly by!
Baggage
There isn’t a baggage store for this event so participants are asked to leave their bags and any extra clothes with family and friends.
Warm Up
All runners are required to assemble on the start line for a warm- up before they get going.
To help our participants feel ready and raring to go, we will be delivering a warm-up on the start line.
Left Clothing
Please note that any clothing left anywhere on the start line will be donated to charity.
Photos
Smile! The Marathon Photos team will be on course throughout the event to snap your picture.
Photographs can be purchased at marathonphotoslive.com. Should you not wish for your photo to be used in this way, please e-mail info@runforall.com prior to race day.
Keeping York green
We are committed to keeping York green and we understand the importance of doing our bit for the environment. Bins will be provided across the event site and we urge people to use the facilities provided.

York has great motorway links to the M1, M62 and A1 (M), putting it within easy driving distance of all of the UK's major cities. Newcastle and Liverpool are less than two hours away, while London and Scotland are approximately four.

Dedicated parking is available off Knavesmire Road on the Knavesmire for Mini & Junior participants only; this is then a short walk to the start line on Knavesmire Road.
Please note this car park is only available from Tadcaster Road due to the 10k road closures. Access will only be available from 10:00. Directional signage will be in place to follow on the morning of the event.

Askham Bar Park and Ride
The Askham Bar Park and Ride service will be operational on event day from 09:30.
The service will take passengers along Tadcaster Road and drop them off just outside of Knavesmire Road. The service then continues into the city centre.

We advise all runners to get there as early as possible to leave plenty of time ahead of the run.

The start and finish area and Event Village are situated a 30-minute walk from the city centre, or a 20-minute walk from York Railway Station. Walkers can access the venue from any direction, irrespective of road closures.
