We are pleased to introduce your very own Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon Motivator, Paige
Runner, Paige is relatively new to running marathons. A true example that anyone can run, Paige went from only running 5K's to completing her first marathon after only four months of training. She then went on to run the 2023 Leeds Half Marathon alongside her brother and fellow marathon motivator, Niall.
Paige will be running the marathon with Niall and will be using social media to track her progress from now until event day. Taking into consideration running kits, event day checklists, nutrition, and fuelling requirements, Paige will be here to help. You can keep track of her progress here
In the meantime, we caught up with Paige to find out more about her running background and how she found her love for the sport.
Who or what encouraged you to start running?
I started running in early 2023 when I managed to gain a place in the London Marathon 2023. I had 4 months to train for the marathon from 0 experience and from only running a 5km! I shared my journey on social media and gained an audience that I was able to motivate to start loving running too. Since then, I am onto running my 3rd major marathon this year, running the Leeds marathon (which is super special to be back home up north) and training for a full Ironman!
What has been your favourite running experience so far and why?
My favourite running experiences are my early morning sunrise runs. I’m lucky to live in central London where the sunrises on the river thames are absolutely glorious. Going for a morning run on a weekend when the streets are quiet and grabbing a coffee and a croissant with my friend afterwards is my favourite.
What do you do in your spare time and how does running fit your lifestyle?
In my spare time, I am a content creator and online fitness coach. I’d say I’m a crazy fitness fanatic hence why I’m taking on an Ironman this year.
How do you stay motivated to train?
I love the mental growth fitness and running comes with. I also appreciate everyday what my body can do. I’m so lucky to currently be healthy and fit to complete the crazy long runs and the fitness challenges and I will continue to say yes to all of these opportunities until one day I will have to say no!
Do you have any running goals that you would like to achieve in the future?
I have a couple of running goals to achieve in the future. My first one is to complete this marathon with my brother. I’m going to be pacing him and pushing him to help reach his time goal! I’d love to complete a sub 3:15 marathon in the next year or so as well as getting a sub 4 hour marathon in my Ironman… but we’ll see!!! Enjoying running is the most important!!
